Our Story

For Liza Gershman, the most enduring events live in memory the way a favorite house does: through rooms, light, and the way people felt while they were there. Years spent in California Wine Country, in the American South, on the East Coast, and abroad have given her an instinct for how different places welcome their guests, and that sense of atmosphere is at the center of Farm + Market Creative.

Drawing on backgrounds in food, wine, travel, photography, publishing, and the visual arts, Liza approaches every project as both a designer and a host. She thinks about what guests will see first, where they will stand, how they will move, what they will taste, and how the evening will sound as it unfolds. Events are composed the way a table is composed in her books: with layers, rhythm, and a quiet confidence that everything belongs.

Over more than three decades, she has designed and produced hundreds of gatherings, from intimate dinners and hospitality moments to large celebrations for notable figures, brand activations for major companies, retreats, galas, and the beloved backyard party that becomes an annual tradition. Farm + Market Creative is the natural extension of that work, dedicated to creating events that feel thoughtful, welcoming, and completely tied to the people and places they honor.

Our Bespoke Planning Process

  • 01: Concept

    The most successful events feel inevitable, as if they could not have taken any other shape. Farm + Market Creative begins by asking what this particular occasion is meant to hold: a marriage, a milestone, a cause, a place, a circle of people who may never be in the same room again. That understanding guides everything that follows.

  • 02: Details

    Details that are often treated as separate assignments are instead seen as one continuous story. Invitations and save-the-dates set the tone before anyone travels. Arrivals and welcome moments ease guests into the setting. The flow from cocktail to dinner to late-night feels natural, whether the evening is candlelit and quiet or full of music and movement. Menus, flowers, linens, lighting, and printed pieces are chosen for how they relate to one another and to the room, not for how they look in isolation.

    The result is an experience that feels calm and generous from start to finish. Guests know where to be without having to ask. Hosts recognize themselves in the details. Nothing feels overdone, yet nothing feels accidental.
